Hello Richard. What a splendid car! So straight and it is all there.
Not sure whether it is trumped by your magnificent front opening transporter. Either way, you win!

Just a word of caution regarding one supplier on bjacko's list, namely Coasting Ltd. Many years ago (well before the Internet era) I made the huge mistake of ordering headlamps bulbs from this outfit. All four bulbs were double the required wattage and two were faulty. They were returned with a polite request for correct replacements, but that and further letters were completely ignored. Frankly I'm astounded to learn that they're still in business.

Hello all,

The drivers side roof around the gutter had some pretty nasty rot around the gutter strip, has anyone had to remove and replace this gutter strip on their re-builds? The roof rot will be reasonably straight forward once cut out.

Thanks

Richard.

Hello All,

Picking up 'CPJ' next week to bring over to my garage to dry out. She has the original sales invoice and guarantee from Morris (not valid I checked) and I will post pictures of arrival and nesting before I purchase an industrial box of tea bags along with a first aid kit for the beginning of the restoration!

I am considering a complete chassis and mechanical rebuild while trying to keep the body as is as much as possible as the majority is the original 1935 paint. What do you guys think?

Richard.

Hi Richard

I'm with Kev and DB4, it would be great if you can keep as much as the original as possible, especially as you have so much history. It will be difficult to match the paint, in the areas where you need to paint, not the colour per say, but the patina; it's easy to paint new to a nice gloss, more difficult (not impossible) to make it look 80 years old !

Re the gutters, I have just made a pair for a Morris Register member, quite simple to fabricate and fix.

It's a great project that I'll be looking forward to following

Cheers

Dave

I may have to pick your brains Dave, although I have a lot to do, engine seized which is by the by really I have a copper head gasket kit complete and a sump gasket kit, will work out a plan and then crack on. I may need slightly more than the morris greasing chart that I have with the car!
