Hi Guys,
No Super in any of those pictures or links.
The Super was the most expensive Mini, and had two tone paint job, together with loads of extra chrome, etc etc

The super is one of the rarest minis because few were built and many were cannibalised in the 80s for coopers and Ss since they have the same interior spec as the more upmarket coopers and Ss! |
Thanks & yes, this is also why I bought it = love special things.
The registra of Super,s for the Mini Cooper registre, has owned / driven, and reseached Super,s since 1973.
He knows of 15 surviving Austin Super,s - and this is worldwide.
Next -- the colour = Fiesta Yellow with Old English White roof, is now one of the rarest & desireble colours for a Super or Cooper, which added to the "must have" effect. _________________ http://www.eurods.eu/wp/index.html |

Ohh yes - and I love it. Drove 3 hours today, just to look at a old exhaust, someone had in his loft, turned out it was incorrect, but all worth it.

Yes correct, these were also just made for a short while.
My Father bought one 16-12-1978 and I keep it in my garage to this day.

I haven't been through all 62 pages of photos but on page 2
and page 7
and page 9
these have more chrome than I associate with Minis.

Hi
I remember the over riders with the corner "whiskers" but I don't think I have ever seen the extra higher bar, perhaps they were export only or even on one of the foreign, licence builds. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

Nice pics but not sure if any of those 3 are Super,s ?
The Blue at the bottom does have a White roof, but it also has a Cooper badge
There were 3 Mini models with over riders & cornerbars Super and Cooper and later on the Super De Luxe replaced the Super.
Only Super, and Cooper had two tone paint jobs, and stainless on the door window frames.
Best way to spot a Super is its front grill = it has vertical bars, which only the Super had. More of them on the Austin, few but wider on a Morris.

Yes these are nudge bars, fitted to most (if not all) Mini,s in france.
Later on they got bigger, and British coachbuilders Wood & Pickett started importing them to UK.

After a visit to the previus owner, to pickup the V5, and a few missing parts, I wanted the car "fully operational" again.
That meant fitting a working fuel pump, so we could drive it.
Found these 2 in my box of bits =
After a little fettling, and mix of parts I got this =
Next day Kristian came for a visit, so we could go for a drive, but I couldnt get the pump to work (when fitted on car)
Tried all kind of tricks, incl connecting it directly to the battery charger, but nothing worked ???????????
After a while we gave up, and went home. After i got home it struck me = no fuel came out of the tank to pump hose ?
Next day I put the airgun into the hose, and found out the tank was blocked.
Fitted another tank, and we were "fully operational" . Kristian came up, and drove her out of the garage.
I then poured some special engine / oil cleaner into the oil, before we took her for a little spin.
After we got back, we changed the oil & filter, this encreased the oil pressure . _________________ http://www.eurods.eu/wp/index.html |

Hi all,
Here is the solution on how to fasten the lower RH hinge, before our test drive =
Later that same week l had a call from the prevuis owner, he was coming to a hotel near me, a few days later, so i did some more cleaning =
After a few hours with paint remover, the original Fiesta Yellow emerged =
Also applied some to the door card =
Here is what was underneath =
Not perfect, but wont use any more of that paint stripper = too hard on the vinyl, so will try with some Brown soap.
On Friday afternoon I drove down to meet the previus owner.
He got the wife,s permission, that he could "come out to play" for 2 hours, so I took him to the workshop.
He was pleased to see the work I had done on the car, and after a little tour around it, he opened and sat inside the car.
I had managed to fit the battery cable unnoticed, so after he had pushed the horn, I said "turn the key" he looked at me, as to say "do you mean it" ?
That moment was well worth all the hard work, his eyes & whole face started smiling, when she started.
Yesterday was also a "Super" good day
First we went to Copenhagen & picked up these =
Then we drove to Roskilde to see Big Mac drive a 12 cyl Ferrari F1 through the the inner city of his hometown Roskilde
And not just some slow demo either no it was "peddle to the metal" when Roskilde was hosting Racing festival 2014.

Hi
I suppose that petrol pump will be the one you have to get underneath and hit with a hammer every so often when starts ticking fast, and won't stop, when you first switch on. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

I remember a friend's mark 1 mini which still had the original pump fitted. One morning session of sprints organized by our club and when time up to drive back home this mini refused to start, pump was hit various times but without success so a tank from the windscreen washers reservoir was made and hung onto the rear view mirror, filled with petrol from the tank and it got him home alright!!
Later on the pump's terminals were cleaned and it resumed work!! |

Small improvements on the car tonight.
Fitting the original chrome blanking plate for the ignition switch hole.
