I just feel its an over priced product that offers no benefits, lots of words but little science.
Quality anti freeze and a clean cooling system is the key, it wont rust and wont suffer from localised heating unless you have air in it. _________________ It will come in handy even if you never use it. |

I think the benefits have been proven, with the science. The drawbacks and benefits of conventional coolant are also proven with science.
It is acknowledged that there is no better coolant than water. It is also acknowledged that it boils at 100C at sea level, which is why the systems are pressurised. That buys you up to 20C of margin. Now think about the heat variance around the block. The hottest places are going to be directly around the cylinder walls. That is where you get the microboiling and that will be happening even though the system temperature is in the normal range.
I would also agree that a fresh, quality antifreeze will reduce corrosion. Of course it will, whilst it is fresh and of the correct concentration. So you drain and replace it at least every 24 months. How many actually do that?
Because the system is pressurised, the hoses and joints are under stress, leading to weeps and bursts. That spills coolant which is lethal to animals that are attracted to it. Happy with that? I'm not. _________________ Evans Waterless Coolants

Interesting views; dose that mean that Evans coolant is harmless, PH7, and can be consumed?
I would suggest that whilst conventional anti-freeze may or may not attract animals, most leaks I have seen have evaporated as steam. When was the last time anybody witnessed a vehicle at the side of the road with a ruptured coolant system?
All non-applicable to me, I just use water! _________________ KA

I use the Pink stuff that lasts 5 years and test it every 12 months.
The hoses and joints are under the same stresses which ever coolant you use. Do any major manufacturers use Evans?
I have yet to see any damage by localised heating unless it has air in it, water is such a good heat conductor that it would take the heat away, I haven't heard of Micro boiling before? _________________ It will come in handy even if you never use it. |
