I remember CB being all the rage in the late 1970s and into the 1980s, but does anyone bother with it nowadays? I've a few unused in-car CB radios, but I'm wondering what the interest levels in these things are now?

Some truck drivers still use them, they don't talk much but just monitor channel 19 for road and smokey bear reports Wink

If you have a Cobra 148GTL-DX with the graveyard channels they are worth a bit of money

CB was a bit of a sore point for me! As somone who was a young HAM in the 80's and had to pass tests to transmit Shocked

What made it worse was folk in the UK trying to adopt US slang, corny didn't cover it , it was unbelievably cringeworthy and for 99% of it use served no useful purpose.

As an emergancy service it was fine but mobile telephony has made it practically redundant .
