PS new additions to the main OCC are sporadic at present, although behind-the-scenes tweaks continue to be made. I've persuaded myself that manually updating over 1,000 pages, one at a time, is a good idea, so if it seems a bit quiet for a while, this might just be the reason why. Unfortunately, it's not possible to do these alterations in bulk.

In the card collecting corner of OCC, I've added in a page for cards issued by British comics in the early/mid 1930s, on the subject of cars. Has anyone here heard of the BSA 10hp Varsity saloon?

Hi
I wonder if it has some relationship to the BSA/Lanchester period.
I know this is a 6 light compared with the 4 light on the card but there are similarities.

Hi
Quote:
Dick's grandfather and great uncle drove the Defiance to transport coke (a byproduct of crude oil refining, and burnt as a cheaper alternative to coal) from the Standard Oil refinery in Sugar Creek, Missouri, USA

That's interesting because I remember, in the late 40's early '50s, using my pram wheeled cartie to collect coke from our local gas works where it was of course a by product of Town Gas production.

A late-1960s version of Merit's magnetic Driving Test game turned up the other day, so the relevant page has been updated accordingly.
