Your Morris 8 looks good and I totally agree with you about keeping it "oily rag". I think the switch next to the horn button is the dip switch. It looks like you've got the proper air silencer in the passenger foot well. These tend go missing.

I would put money on those seats being in very good condition. If the rest of the car is anything to go by then it may well have a low mileage; what does it read, btw? |

Hi
I didn't see any beam direction lines on the headlamps, so is it switch and dip?
Chrome fitting at top of dash looks like a map/dash lamp.
3 pull knobs?
Choke & Starter? is the other one a screw operated hand throttle? I know some 8s had one _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

The "t" knob is indeed a screw operated throttle cable which on my MG is referred to a "slow running" adjuster.
You are also right about the map/dash lamp. I have one of them on the Austin and two on the MG. I nearly fell over when I saw the cost of a replacement from Moss.

(On some home market cars one of these is a "thirty-light" which as it's name suggests is a light that came on at (you guessed it!) thirty mph. It came in as a response to the introduction of the speed limit in built up areas).

Hi
The photo was taken in Hoddlesden near Darwen at Carus's St Pauls Mill.
Just to mention that one of the people is my friend's father Joe Shepherd.
The headlamps appear to have a form of light shielding on them and he was a member of the Auxilliary Fire Brigade before and during the war.
Maybe it was a lorry and also utilised as a fire engine _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

Hi... Your input to OCC is much appreciated, but this particular photo... are you making reference to WWII... my opinion is that the style of clothing and general demeaner suggests a much earlier time... |

Yes Peter from the styling of the clothing I would put this in the 1920s also the lights look to be acetylene lamps and would almost certainly have been converted to electric by WW2 _________________ old tourer
