Rick, File this note under "Bad Trades". Back in 1982, a friend of mine invited me to come see his newly acquired car, one for which he'd traded his vintage Morgan. Imagine my shock when I saw a Citroen SM sitting in his garage in the Morgan's spot. He was already starting to regret the deal because the complex hydropneumatic system seemed to be packing up. I did my best appear enthusiastic, but by 1982, SM's were hitting the bottom of their market value. It was the second worst trade I ever saw. The worst was another friend who swapped a 1969 big-block Corvette Coupe for a . . . are you ready . . . Cosworth Vega.
