Morning all,
Added to the brochures section today, an eye-catching and full-colour brochure for the 1939 Dodge trucks (2 and 3 ton).

Hi all,
Slightly different to the previous brochure upload, today's is for the 1977 Datsun range. While the cars featured in it never really lifted my mood much, I'm sure that cars such as the 120Y, 140J, 260Z and so on are more relatable to many people than the older, or more exotic, vehicles already featured in this section of the site. Maybe.

Junior's been busy here learning about IT at home, in-between home-schooling, today he uploaded a short, 3-minute, video about the Morris Minor, its development, and where to look for rust in a project car. He wrote and produced it. If you're able to give him a Like on YT, that'd be great, thanks.

Hi all,
Given that later this year OCC turns 20 years of age, I've added a short vid about why I set it up, and how it might carry on, to the "About" page on the main site.

Outside of our time period, but never mind - junior's latest short vid, this time on his liking for the Ferrari F2004 F1 car.

I've seen quite a few restorations compressed into short, time-lapse, videos so decided to do one that lasts ten minutes of big Dodge (1995-2011) created with 500 photos, accompanied by various early photos showing its early life.

Excellent!

The photos give a good record of the work done but you and I know they cannot even begin to show the sheer frustration that accompanied that particular restoration. !

Shocked

A most enjoyable watch.

Thanks for taking the trouble to share it.

Re Big Dodge Time Lapse: Thanks Rick, that was indeed excellent. What was the original "spark" that ignited the purchase and renovation plan ? I presume it was never considered as an "at home" project.

Stumbling across it looking derelict was how it all began, none of it was planned, then one thing led to another ... The plan from the beginning was to put it back to its post-war configuration, trying to replicate the original look and only use in-period bits wherever possible. Hence having lots of one-off beading made for the body when off-the-shelf would have done the job, etc etc. And buying a NOS steering wheel in Australia when the one I'd previously found from a 3/4 ton truck would have done the job just fine.

I did initially think about doing it at home, but the sheer amount of space required once dismantled kind of put paid to that, plus I'd have had to farm out a lot of the work anyway, especially when it came to re-constructing the rear body which had sagged either side due to the weight of the car it had carried.

By comparison, the Commer (which I'd like to sort out one day) is in much better condition.

Thanks for the reply Rick, do you ever envisage donating/loaning it to a Museum or selling it ?

I read every word of your blog on the restoration.

Such trials and tribulations.!

All I can say is you must be made of some pretty stern stuff.!!

I don't see me letting it go, it's been a big part of things for 25+ years, even deciding which house we bought.
