|
|
Finally, after two years of Dear John letters and promises, my car is booked in for the NOx emissions upgrade. I will report back on how the car feels after its upgrade, although the letter promises that there will be no change to performance, economy, etc.
Incidentally, I can recommend the Yeti as a tow car, it having managed, without undue stress, to tow my Citroen Traction 200 odd miles down to Staines for its gearbox upgrade the other day.
I will post a picture when photobucket decides to come back on line. _________________ 1953 Citroen Traction

From what I've read, a great many VAG diesel owners are very unhappy after their cars have been 'corrected' so I'd suggest checking out what other Yeti owners think. The problems vary depending on the engine version but rough running, worse economy, poor performance and rattling noises have all been reported. _________________ David

Are you on the Briskoda forum
http://www.briskoda.net/forums/
There is a thread running on there about the pros and cons. I have a petrol Yeti so fortunately my car's not affected. |

It is getting to the point now whereby I am considering changing it anyway. If the upgrade spoils the general driving experience, which is currently very good, then I will bring forward the date for a change. _________________ 1953 Citroen Traction

If you're thinking of changing it, I'd leave it as it is and let a future owner deal with it. _________________ David

Finally done, to be fair the car feels exactly as it did before, the only possible downside that I can see is that the fuel consumption, as shown on the car's computer, seems to be slightly higher around town. On a longer run, it seems to be pretty much as before. _________________ 1953 Citroen Traction
