They are both LNER A4 Class designed by Sir Nigel Gresley (the same model as the famous record-breaking Mallard); both entered service in 1937,and were withdrawn in late 1963/early 1964. Neither have survived. The colour scheme and embossed numbers indicate the photos date from the 1937-1940 period.

I suspect that the second pic is somewhere in the vicinity of Edinburgh Waverley _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.
