According to the July 1933 edition of Popular Mechanics, the Pyroil Lubricating Process was launched on the U.S market by its inventor V.W.Kidder.
If you read the text of the US launch it reads very similar to the wording of the RedeX product when that was launched in 1933. The inventor of RedeX was a Wayne Vernon Myers; he studied chemistry at Columbia University probably around 1910 onwards.
Is it possible that Mr V.W.Kidder and Wayne V Myers both studied chemistry at the same time and jointly discovered the basis of the Pyroil and RedeX lubricating systems?.
The ad. in Popular Mechanics specifies 'Sold in the USA & Canada' whilst RedeX was patented for sale in the UK in 1933.
I have also contacted Columbia University and they have promised to go into their archives for me, however, knowing the depth of knowledge that forum readers have maybe someone out there can help?
