I will second that , Martin Jay (distributor doctor ) is a very nice man to deal with and very helpful with any problems. Although I still have points in my van Martins ignition parts have transformed the E83W.

Well, if the problem of poorly made rotor arms has been going on for 20 years there's little chance mine is an old one but looks old, 20 years old or more I couldn't say. Yes I am fitting electronic ignition once the 12v conversion is done and everything is working.

The electronic ignition I bought is accuspark and comes with a red rotor arm, no telling if it's genuine or fake. I'm guessing it's what you are all thinking.

A "proper" red rotor arm will have "DD" moulded on it (often up the inside).
