Here is a detail image from an article on the Canadian News.

Read the full article here. Personally I think the story is a little more dramatic than reality, but it was post WWII and the height of the "Cold War".

Any ideas ?

Back in the day, Canada didn't use Kg for weight, (181 Kg approx 400Lbs) and this happened in a small community much different from the worldly lives of today. As per my post, I think the story as told and retold and then reported here may be somewhat removed from reality.

Very interesting and for me a strange coincidence.

My wife was watching a silly film last night "Earth vs. the Flying Saucers" (1956). This was set (in 1956) at an American rocket launch site sending up satellites that were being shot down by the saucers. The satellite program was called Project Skyhook.

For one who doesn't admit to watching, it seems one knows a lot about the plot. Wink Laughing

Hi
Skyhook was also a ground to air personnel recovery system.

Used in a number of films as well, I believe.

In James Bond "Thunderball" from the sea. Also several videos on the 'net.

One can learn quite a lot for a Tuesday. Smile
