Maybe they're shy, I know there are former owners about so feel to post your questions etc.

good question, just where to get a few things like interior trim, clips and windscreen rubbers ect.
it is often the smaller odd things that take the most tracking down.
also not seen anything on mk 2's so wondered if there were any on here?

If you put photos of your car up on the forum you might be the first and you might just start a trend Wink Laughing

Hi Shaun, sorry not answered sooner. No Zephyr at present having sold the last one but you can try John Blythe at Golden Days, 01603 881155 or Basis in New Zealand or Geoff Walker at http://www.restospares.co.nz/zephyr_zodiac.htm
for rubber items. Cheers,JD.

Hi Shaun,

Your car looks beautiful.

I can't help with any suggestions on parts or services, but I was involved with the Mk 2 Consuls back in the day.

My Dad and Mun put their name down for a new Ford Prefect in about 1949. The waiting list did not get down to them until 1956, largely because of a massive rise in purchase tax that year. They finally got offered a Mk 2 Consul in December 1956 when I was 13. It was a blue, almost turqoiise with beige upholstery. That car was like a baby. It never went out in the wet and Dad used an old Austin Seven for work. I was allowed to take and pass my driving test in the Ford in 1960.

When Mum and Dad migrated to Australia in March 1964 the Consul came with them. Dad had the front seat modified in Australia so that it fully reclined, allowing them to camp inside it. He kept the car until 1971 when it was traded in on a new VW Campmobile.

Enjoy your Consul!

Keith
