Hi
I've got one of these.

It was my father's and it still does for me, I even have a stock of safety razor blades to go with it.

Like you Penman I too dusted off my father's clipper.

These aren't mine but are identical.

I haven't, for the first time in my life, shaved for a month. But on cars, nothing today, but struggled with the garden tractor to level the two cutting blades. A bloody nightmare. There is a thread with an adjusting nut and a lock nut, and the instruction manual says to turn clockwise to raise one side of the deck to level the two blades. But I looked at it, and realised, after trusting the manual at first, that it had to be the other way round. I no longer have a lawn cut perfectly on the left side and scalped on the right.

I only shave when I go to the pub, so this is not going well for me at the moment.

Good stuff, we've got an ancient UJ flag and various bunting in the garden, plus a few old ammo boxes and WW2 trinkets on display.

This is off topic, but did you know that the treaty was signed on the 7th, 8th and 9th! In fact Russia celebrates the end of the war today, not yesterday. And, coincidentally, it seems my birthday was just 9 months after VE day. Hmm.

For VE Day celebrations (Friday & Saturday) I’ve had the Morris 8 two seater parked on the drive bedecked with Union Jack bunting and flags
As for haircut I married a hairdresser so haven’t been to a barber since 1966 though these day I don’t have much to cut.

Got the last of the vinyl interior parts dyed today since the weather was just about perfect for it and my order had arrived. I'm very pleased with the results and I'm hopeful that it will prove hardwearing. I have the front seats to install tomorrow, weather permitting, once the dye has had chance to fully cure. Or rather, that me handling the seats is less likely to damage them during fitting, even though the dye probably doesn't need to cure overnight.

I wanted the interior to look like it could have been a factory option, so took my queues from similar aged cars like the Mk3 Ford Cortina and BL's own special edition Princess, the 100 Club, which was finished inside in black vinyl with pink velour seat facings. The 100 Club also had silver over purple paintwork, and while the intention was to produce 100 of these cars to reward the 100 best performing dealerships, they never actually produced that many as when given the option, many simply didn't want one. Survivors are in single figures now.

Got the Princess interior fully reinstalled today and I'm delighted with the end result.

Looking very tidy, I'd never heard of the 100 Club version before.
