Gazelle engine ?

Hi everybody got me a singer gazelle but not sure what engine it's got .it's a differen't number from the log book the dipstick goes into the block not the sump, cast iron head,has a zenith 34ivd carb although could have been changed.speedy spares said it could be out of a 3a gazelle .another supplier said it was a 1725 cc.i don't mind what it is but I need to know for service parts thanks in advance.

I think with that carb it is a 1725.

I'm only saying that because the 1600s used Zeniths with 30 or 32 designations.

If I remember correctly the 1500 & 1600cc engine sat upright where as the 1725 was was a slant (canted over at an angle)

True in the new range with the Macpherson front suspension, but not in the previous range.

OK, it's sideways but this 1725 Super Minx is vertical.

That looks identical to mine even the air box .oil filter and filler cap.exept rocker cover on mine is chrome.looks more like a 1725 than a 1600 happy days thank you everyone
