I have a replacement gear lever gaiter for my Riley but I've no idea how old it is and it's not that supple. Is there anything I can do to soften it and reduce the chance of it splitting? _________________ David

Hi
If you have a shop doing model aircraft with rubber motors there is a rubber lubricant they use to increase the durability of their rubber bands.
Come to think of it you might find that on line.
I believe "soft soap" is an alternative for the modellers _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

Thanks, I think I may have some saddle soap in a cupboard somewhere so will give it a try. If not, while tidying my garage earlier I found some Holts rubber lubricant which has 'softens' amongst its claimed properties. _________________ David
