Any one know of any one who would show my son how to do it?
He bought a bike well what's left of one and the gear box looks to be complete but its in a bucket!
Neither of us have ever done one before

Sounds like a good project for him, nice to have a 30's bike.

There must be someone on her who could give some tips.

He has been looking for a long time but all too expensive, he will actually ride it too.
We went to Llandudno transport festival and he took a punt on an engine for £30, turns out its a 30's Royal Enfield then whilst looking for parts he finds a chap also looking for bits who has decided to sell, so the story begins, he is very handy so will make what he cant find, obviously budget is an issue on his apprentice wage, problem we have is most of the people who know about them have moved on and not much info left behind

Hi. If he is keen that is all he needs. I would like to help your son I do not see our vast separation by distance as an obstacle, we need to talk about basic principles and how the box operates.
The only difference between him and me is confidence and with education we can level the field.
If you would like to do this just say so, either on the forum or by mail preferably.
John
