Morning all,

This old girl deserves to be restored, one of the BMC mobile workshops that were built for the company in the 1960s. A small number of these were built as race car transporters from new, and several of the surviving workshops have been converted into this role in more recent times.

First gear probably only used when needed on very steep hills and heavy loads, not in your "day to day" driving Very Happy

Seems the windscreen is broken, the rear too. Good luck finding a replacement Confused
Missing its front bumper?

Super old bus!

They also used them as mobile classrooms. We had one in our yard for a while when I was an apprentice in the late 50s. Apprentices from other BMC dealers came to us for training, probably when the mini was new in '59 The registration number was BMC ---, but I can't remember the number.

I've just noticed that the description says it has a Perkins diesel engine. I suspect that might have been a conversion for economy, as the one I remember was definitely petrol, because I filled it up when it left!

I love the snotty way some people advertise on eBay. Like this chap, "Don't ask me to lift a finger to answer questions, you can see what it is, now buy it!" Very Happy

I'm surprised that no-one went for it, it's back on I think. Perhaps the broken screen put potential rescuers off? They're probably one of the few lorries that could actually recoup the investment needed to restore it, if it were to be sold once restored.

I wonder why its L/H drive? It says 20 were produced and only 2 of that were for the USA and this isn't one of them.
