Anyone else been following this series. It is quite down to earth and light years away from the programmes about Bonham's or Coy's or Sotheby's. I have recorded the series. The Talbot Sunbeam was amazing, and the Moggie was good value too. |

i had a sunbeam talbot, sadly not a lotus, but that rusted from new!
loved the mk2 zodiac as well, and being a fellow mk2 owner, and trials rider that was the best prog so far!
although the imp engine was not in that fire pump as he claimed. |

Coventry Climax in fire pumps...with constant revs cam.
Whilst doing my last job...I qualified/became one of the ast civilian Green Goddess instructors [as & when a fire strike threatened]...
Dozens of Green Goddess pumps would be driven up from places like Cardington, and other storage depots....for us to use to train military personnel with.
I loved them.....and could, with patience, get over 50 mph out of one...
Each vehicle came fully equipped with, amongst other gubbins, a portable pump....powered by a Coventry Climax OHC engine...oh how I wished folk weren't looking, now & again.....?
Used to be a fella that did conversions [cam, etc] on portable pump engines,to make them usable on vehicles..
As MoD instructors, we'd be 'hired out' to Home Office for the duration....
Sadly, like the Green Goddess, my ticket has 'timed-out'....[along with a lot of other instructor tickets I once held] _________________ Dellow Mk2, 1951 built, reg 1952.

Having been personally..and spent one or two pleasant days [scoffing Balderson's pasties as well] looking over the stock..I do feel the net result of the TV coverage is, prices have gone somewhat higher than would otherwise be expected....
A very cramped site too... _________________ Dellow Mk2, 1951 built, reg 1952.

How does it work with the memorabilia?
Is that all auctioned too? If so the auction must go on all day! _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

At the moment, the auctions are off....[or being conducted as online or phone bids only]
I attended the last but one auction.
The vehicle auction, and the memorabilia auctions were conducted separately, in separate venues....concurrently.
Yes, both auctions did appear o go on ''all day'', or it felt like it, at least.
Currently only vehicle auctions being conducted, provisos as above.
That may change, on a day by day basis? Check website for information? _________________ Dellow Mk2, 1951 built, reg 1952.

They certainly seem to like their Fords, barely a week goes by it seems without there being an Escort or a Sierra of some kind. Fun programme though
