With all this virus business, how long since you last took your oldie out for an airing? The Volvo has been out a couple or so times, little Dodge only once I think since mid-March.

Last proper outing was 11th August last year at a very wet Biggar Show.

I took the big Hillman out on Sunday, lovely sunshine, only the 3 miles to Glastonbury to fill her up with fuel as the price is now under £1 a litre.

I drove the Mk1 Escort to the Doctors a fortnight ago, and had the Mk1 Golf on a short road test yesterday. The alarm is being serviced on Friday, but that's a home visit, and it needs tracking, probably next week.

Last took the Herald out shopping about 3 weeks ago. Then I acquired a small modern van which is more suited to my work than the current modern (ish) car, basically sound but needing some odd jobs doing, and so that's in the garage at home while I do a little bit every day. Trouble is that means the Herald is temporarily resident in a lock up about 3 miles away in another part of town, sans battery as there's no electricity at the lock up to run the conditioner. Taking a battery up there just for a shopping run is impractical so it's stuck for the time being, of course Wales is still in basically full lockdown so longer runs are out of the question.

In W.A. we are now pretty free of lock-downs. We can travel from region to region within the state, but we cannot leave the state as the borders are still closed. So I can now legally drive around the left-hand third of Australia.

Saturday before last, my wife and I enjoyed a 180 km drive in the Austin A40. I posted this elsewhere on the site. The Austin Seven was used back in January and the Chrysler last year sometime. I have used the BMW Z3 over the last few days for chores while the weather is still warm and sunny, but that is not really considered a classic yet.

Hopefully the Veteran Car Club will be able to meet up again very soon and we can get some serious old car driving in again.

Its weird being the same age as old people.

Only the other day for a run in the forest. Currently planning a rerun with about six cars of Norman Dewis' trip to Geneva for the launch of the E-type in 1961, but that will take place next March. But plenty on this year if the rules allow.

I used the Firenza for a few days at the end of May, while I was swapping the timing belt and water pump on the daily driver.

Almost every day for the last month or so - as long as it is not raining. But from now on to the next week we are predicted bad weather. It is raining now actually and only 13 degrees so not much fun.

Took the 2CV out for a local tootle last week, just a few miles so that my daily exercise routine could go somewhere different. Traction hasn't moved anywhere signifcant since March, neither has the Volvo. Last significant run was March 15th to a breakfast meet just outside Warrington. I have however repaired the brakes and it will be the next car to get an airing.

I try to alternate all three of mine, but the modern Kangoo gets the most work.
It's the Talbot Camper's turn tomorrow, only three miles to the dog walk. The Discovery went to Cwmbran last week, about twenty miles round trip.
But the poor old caravan hasn't moved since February
I'll have to cut the trees down around it by the time we're allowed out again!

My last trip out was in the A40 pickup on a hot Tuesday afternoon just over a week ago. 2 miles out my wife asked:
" it doesn't always sound like this does it? ".
We managed to limp home on 2 cylinders and a badly blown head gasket.
Engine is now out. Block and head have gone away to be skimmed and acid dipped to remove all the hard build up that is almost completely fil!ing the water jacket.
New increased capacity radiator also ordered, all of which should hopefully improve matters when it's all back together again.
