Hi
Lot's, prbably most, of us will be worse off after the problems of the last few months but remember this will also apply to lots of the things we like to visit.
Here is a little video from Laurie of LMM being serious for once.

Remember our Railways.

Interesting, yes all these organisations are going to find it hard going for a while once this madness eases up. Avro Heritage, that dad's involved with, hasn't been open for months and they have no idea when they'll re-open - especially as most of their volunteers are, due to their average age, in a group vulnerable to this virus.

Our local Heritage Railway recently announced full closure for this year and iirc they are to open again in March 2021.

They have lost a full years revenue, plenty of jobs and will almost certainly need to borrow just simply to cover any costs.

Its such a sad situation for everyone.

I joined the "local" (it's 1.5hrs away) model railway club back in January as prequel to starting work on my first ever model railway. February was "snowed out" and then COVID-19 put a stop to things, including the April display at the exhibition centre, which is a major revenue earner. Now the club is seriously short of funds to pay 2020 rent. I suggested that membership should be increased from the paltry $25 a year to as much as $100. It didn't go down well with some members. So, unless someone has a magic wand stuck in a place where the sun don't shine, could be goodnight...

Members have already paid $25 for this year, so at just about $10 a month for the rest of this year. I can't fix it...
