I should have purchased the 18/6 I spotted at auction in March ‘19, but was not to be.
So now looking in earnest for an Austin 18/6 or 16/6 early to mid thirties. Needs to be in good usable condition but prefer excellent condition. If you have one or know of one on the market or soon to be please do let me know.
Thanks. Very Happy

Unless I wanted a wedding car I would steer clear of that York with it's Ford engine.

The market for large Austins is pretty strong; you'll not get much for eleven grand - certainly not a decent Sixteen. I agree the Carlton sounds a bit pricey, but Malcolm at the Motor Shed is usually amenable to serious negotiating and I would be surprised if he refused an offer of £15k, which is probably a fair price.

Having now done some serious scouting around and looking at past sales I believe your value estimate is close to the mark. I have found a 16/6 carlton of 1934 vintage which is tempting me.

Purchase now completed, Austin 16/6 ‘Carlton’ limousine 1934. Spot on the money guide at £15k.
