NEW COVID-COMPLIANT HOME FOR THE LONDON CLASSIC CAR SHOW 2021

• The capital’s premier classic car celebration moves to Syon Park
• Revised springtime date confirmed for new-look outdoor event
• Full spectrum of automotive history displayed under evocative ‘Evolution of Design’ theme
• Tickets on sale from Thursday 26 November with special Early Bird offer

The celebrated London Classic Car Show returns in Spring 2021 at a new Covid-compliant venue providing both visitors and exhibitors with the welcome opportunity to fuel their passions and businesses in wonderful and safe surroundings.

With uncertainties still affecting the immediate future of large-scale indoor gatherings, show organiser Brand Events has once again displayed its innovation by moving the capital city’s premier classic car celebration from Olympia to a more viable outdoors setting in the splendour of Syon Park.

Sited on the banks of the River Thames opposite the world-famous Kew Gardens in West London, Syon’s wide open green spaces are no stranger to such impressive showcases and will provide the perfect backdrop for more than 500 eye-catchingly evocative classic cars from yesteryear… plus a feast of accompanying attractions to entertain and inspire show-goers of all ages.

Furthering the Show’s appeal, a new springtime date has also been announced with the traditional February indoor calendar slot moved back to the weekend of 16-18 April in search of more favourable al fresco weather. Nevertheless, all the major display areas will be under temporary covers all with open sides to ensure social distancing as well as a healthy flow of fresh spring air.

“With so many indoor events still being cancelled or postponed, we are thrilled to have found such a fabulous new home – plus a more welcoming date – for The London Classic Car Show. It should be the first fixture inked into everyone’s 2021 diary,” enthused Show Director Mark Woolley, who also confirmed that the eagerly-anticipated event’s headline theme will be: ‘The Evolution of Design’.

“We will be celebrating 135 years of remarkable automotive progress ranging from the extraordinary pioneering horseless carriages which date all the way back to the dawn of motoring in Victorian times right up to the latest supercars – the idolised classics of tomorrow,” explained Woolley. “With such a magical mix of icons and curiosities on display, it promises to be a real ‘must-see’ experience for anyone with a drop of petrol in their veins!”

Tickets for 2021 London Classic Car Show go on sale from Thursday 26 November. As in 2020, adult admission tickets are available in advance from £25 (£30 on the day) with a limited number of Premium upgrades also on offer. There is also an extra Early Bird saving of £5 on offer for all those fast starters registering for the Show’s official newsletter before the On Sale date. Providing reassurance for all ticket buyers, full refunds will be offered should the show be cancelled as a result of Covid-19.

Renowned for launching ground-breaking new consumer shows such as Top Gear Live and CarFest family festivals, the award-winning Brand Events team has spent the past nine months creating and running an impressive array of highly-successful Covid-compliant shows including nationwide Drive & Dine Theatre,, Carpool Comedy Clubs as well as the highly-acclaimed Drive-In Classic Car Show staged at Bicester Heritage in September.

The 2021 London Classic Car Show will build on these achievements offering classic car owners, collectors and enthusiasts a much-needed tonic in these unprecedented times. It will also provide many of the country’s best dealers, restorers and car clubs with the perfect platform from which to reignite their businesses.

ITALIAN AUTOMOTIVE ICON TO CELEBRATE ITS CENTENARY AT THE LONDON CLASSIC CAR SHOW 2021

• 100th birthday party for Lancia’s legendary Lambda at Syon
• One of the most significant and innovative cars of all time
• Special display enhances event’s magical ‘Evolution of Design’ theme
• Advance tickets now on sale with special offer for Early Bird bookers

The London Classic Car Show 2021, which takes place at Syon Park from 16-18 April next year, will be celebrating the magical history of motoring under the central theme of ‘The Evolution of Design’.

Spanning 135 years of progress, the capital’s premier event for classic car collectors and enthusiasts will put the spotlight on many of the greatest automotive creations that have captured the imaginations of passionate drivers and devotees ever since the dawn of motoring at the end of the 19th century.

A special display to mark the 60th birthday of Jaguar’s inspirational E-type has already been confirmed. Now comes confirmation that one of Italy’s most influential models – the Lancia Lambda – will be saluting its centenary in the beautiful grounds of Syon Park, the new Covid-compliant home for The London Classic Car Show in 2021.

The Lambda – the brainchild of engineering genius Vincenzo Lancia – not only laid the foundations for one of Italy’s most illustrious marques, but is also renowned for its outstanding technical innovations. It was the first car to feature a load bearing monocoque body which revolutionised car design – within a decade this unibody technique had been adopted universally by manufacturers all over the world.

An equally dramatic innovation was the introduction of pioneering independent suspension and the Lambda was also one the first cars to benefit from brakes on all four wheels.

Boasting so much ground-breaking technology, the spectacular Lambda moved the goal posts when it came to road holding and comfort, enabling drivers to outperform other cars with much larger engines than the 2120cc Lancia V4.

Although designed for touring rather than competition, the game-changing Lancia dominated its class in many of the period’s greatest road races… and still does today. Indeed, three of the top four finishers in the latest classic Mille Miglia 2020 re-enactment were piloting Lambdas.

Perhaps, its long-running sporting success is no surprise as Vincenzo himself had been a successful racing driver before refocussing his talents on founding the company which still bears his name today – albeit as part of the global FIAT automotive empire. Moreover, back in 1921 the intrepid Vincenzo tested his prototype Lambda on the Mont Cenis Pass, a notoriously challenging Alpine road between Italy and France (photo below bottom).

“The Lambda is without doubt one of the most significant cars ever created and thus we are thrilled to be honouring its centenary at The London Classic Car Show next spring,” enthused Mark Woolley, Show Director. “The Lancia may not be such an obvious choice as the E-type to be included in our ‘The Evolution of Design’ feature, but it has cult status among car connoisseurs… and deservedly so.”

The special 100th anniversary Lambda display is being curated by the Lancia Motor Club, one of a number of leading car clubs already making exciting plans for the eagerly-anticipated London show.

“Next year is clearly going to be a major milestone for the Lambda and we will be celebrating its centenary in style,” vowed Alison Ure of the Lancia Motor Club. “This spectacular car with its pioneering innovations and technological advances took the automotive world by storm and is now recognised as one of the most innovative cars of all time. We will have a fine selection of these wonderful machines on display for all the visitors to The London Car Classic Show to admire.”

Tickets for 2021 London Classic Car Show are now on sale. As in 2020, adult admission tickets are available in advance from £25 (£30 on the day) with a limited number of Premium upgrades also on offer.

Moreover, for all those fast starters registering for the Show’s official newsletter before the 9 December deadline an Early Bird saving of an additional £5 is on offer.

Providing reassurance for all ticket buyers, full refunds (excluding booking and transaction fees) will be offered should the show be cancelled as a result of Covid-19.

SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND – THE E-TYPE AT 60 YEARS OLD

• Jaguar icon celebrates its 60th birthday at The London Classic Car Show 2021
• Major milestone for much-loved automotive star from the capital’s Swinging Sixties
• Innovative Covid-compliant event’s ‘Evolution of Design’ theme comes to life
• Advance tickets on sale from Thursday 26 November with significant savings for Early Birds

Next year marks the diamond anniversary of one of the most acclaimed and admired cars in automotive history – the legendary Jaguar E-type. This magical 60-year milestone will be celebrated in style at The London Classic Car Show 2021 (16-18 April).

As confirmed last week, the capital’s premier event for classic car purveyors, collectors and enthusiasts has been moved to a new Covid-compliant venue in the scenic grounds of historic Syon Park. Advance tickets for the carefully created socially distanced, outdoor yet covered event go on sale tomorrow (Thursday) with significant discounts for Early Birds booking swiftly.

The Show’s central ‘The Evolution of Design’ theme will feature seminal cars from all automotive ages stretching back 135 years to the dawn of motoring… and few creations fit that evocative billing better than the iconic E-type.

When launched in 1961, the quintessential Jaguar sportster not only set new standards in automotive design but defined its generation. Described as ‘the most beautiful car ever made’ by none other than Enzo Ferrari, the eye-catching catwalk model epitomised the spirit and glamour of the Swinging Sixties.

“As London started to swing, the E-type quickly became every bit as synonymous with the fun-loving cultural revolution as The Kings Road, Carnaby Street, the mini skirt, Biba and The Beatles,” said Show Director Mark Woolley. “In so many ways, the capital city is the E-type’s spiritual home and that’s why we are so excited to be honouring its momentous 60th birthday with special showcases at next year’s The London Classic Car Show.”

Adding further pertinence to the landmark celebrations being planned for Syon Park, the springtime weekend now chosen for the rescheduled event falls very close to the seminal sportscar’s actual birth date. It was in March 1961 that Jaguar caused a sensation by unveiling the British beauty at that year’s Geneva Motor Show. Quite apart from its film star looks, the dazzling two-seater coupe offered 150+mph performance for a fraction of the price of rivals with similar gusto.

“The E-type really had it all,” continued Woolley. “It was a fast supercar, relatively affordable, uber-trendy and blessed with simply stunning styling. No wonder it became so fashionable and the car of choice for all the major top celebrities, whether movie stars, supermodels, sporting heroes or chart-topping pop stars.”

Famous early E-type owners included Tony Curtis, Peter Sellers, George Harrison, Charlton Heston, Bridget Bardot, Frank Sinatra, George Best and Princess Grace… not to mention Austin Powers!

To mark the 60th anniversary, a number of very special E-type displays are being curated for The London Classic Car Show 2021. Dedicated dealers, restorers and specialists are also being invited to join the party along with the country’s leading Jaguar car clubs.

NEW JUNE DATE FOR THE LONDON CLASSIC CAR SHOW 2021

• The capital’s premier classic car celebration now set for mid-summer
• Syon Park offers Covid-compliant, open-air setting for must-see event
• New date already welcomed by exhibitors and enthusiasts

The organiser of The London Classic Car Show 2021 has today (27 January) issued a new date for the capital city’s foremost celebration of glorious motoring history.

To be staged outdoors in the beautiful – and Covid-compliant – grounds of Syon Park alongside the Thames, the much anticipated event will now take place between 25-27 June, ten weeks later than was originally announced.

“We are very grateful to those at Syon Park for making these new June dates available to us,” explained Mark Woolley, Show Director. “While we are confident that the rolling out of vaccines together with the arrival of spring will bring a lifting of the present day restrictions, in the current circumstances it seems prudent for us to take full advantage of this timely opportunity.

“We have already canvassed many of those in the industry and they have all been absolutely delighted and relieved that we have secured this new June date for what’s such an important event. Many have clearly been suffering in recent months and they are really eager to reignite their businesses as well as refuel their deep-seated passions for wonderful classic cars. Now they will be able to do both in the mid-summer sunshine.”

The new June fixture will not only provide Woolley and his award-winning Brand Events team some additional time to curate an even more impressive visitor experience but the longer daylight hours and summery weather in June will also be far more welcoming for all those attending what will be a largely open air event.

Indeed, the alfresco setting in the splendour of Syon Park – with major displays housed in large, well-ventilated, open-sided structures – was always chosen to provide a safe, Covid-compliant venue for both exhibitors and show-goers.

Renowned for its innovation, over the past 12 months Brand Events has expertly risen to the challenge of creating – and delivering – a wide range of hugely successful attractions all within government protocols. These include nationwide Drive & Dine Theatres, Carpool Comedy Clubs and last autumn’s highly-acclaimed Drive-In Classic Car Show at Bicester Heritage. The London Classic Car Show 2021 will now maximise on this proven experience and build on these notable achievements.

As previously announced, in its new socially-distanced surroundings The London Classic Car Show 2021 will feature a magical journey through the full 135 years of evocative motoring history under the central theme of ‘The Evolution of Design’.

Special displays already confirmed include notable milestone celebrations to mark the 100th anniversary of Lancia’s pioneering Lambda and the 60th birthday of Jaguar’s idolised E-type. A host of further major highlights will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Tickets for The London Classic Car Show are on sale. As in 2020, adult admission tickets are available in advance from £25 (£30 on the day) with a limited number of Premium upgrades also on offer.

Providing reassurance for all ticket buyers, full refunds (excluding booking and transaction fees) will be offered should the show be cancelled as a result of Covid-19. Similar refunds are also offered for existing ticket holders who can no longer attend the new June date.

LOCKDOWN LIFT-OFF FOR THE LONDON CLASSIC CAR SHOW

• Prime Minister’s roadmap plan to end restrictions by 21 June welcomed
• Mid-summer date at Syon Park perfectly timed as protocols terminate
• Capital’s premier automotive celebration in pole position to reignite passions and livelihoods
• Advance tickets on sale offering significant savings for those buying now

The roadmap out of lockdown restrictions, as announced earlier this week by Prime Minster Boris Johnson, has been warmly welcomed by Brand Events, the organiser of The London Classic Car Show.

With the Government planning to lift all Covid-induced protocols in England on 21 June, the timing is perfect for The London Classic Car Show which takes place in the grounds of the capital’s picturesque Syon Park (photo above) between 25-27 June.

“These have been incredibly tough times for everybody, so the very real possibility of a return to normality is a massive psychological boost for classic car enthusiasts as well as a much-needed commercial boost for all those whose livelihoods depend on a thriving classic car sector,” said Mark Woolley, Show Director.

“Coming at the end of June, on the first weekend after the planned lifting of lockdown, The London Classic Car Show will raise the curtain on what’s sure to be summer of inspiring events,” continued Woolley who is now putting into overdrive his outstanding plans for an even more eagerly-anticipated comeback show.

“To kick things off in superb style, we’ll be celebrating lots of wonderful motoring milestones including the centenary of the Bugatti Brescia and 60 years of the iconic Jaguar E-type. For many, though, the biggest celebration will undoubtedly be the chance to renew old friendships and to reignite shared passions in the presence of great cars in the summer sunshine in Syon Park.”

Having already announced a new outdoor venue and a new mid-summer date for The London Classic Car Show 2021, Brand Events was always fully prepared to operate within whatever Covid protocols were in place in late June.

Underlining its proficiency, the organisation has recently secured a prized “We’re Good To Go” industry standard and consumer mark from Visit Britain, an official endorsement awarded to companies which have demonstrated their ability to follow Government and industry guidelines, thus providing a ring of confidence for customers as well as reassurance to visitors.

Come June, The London Classic Car Show will be celebrating the entire 135 years of automotive innovation under its evocative central theme of ‘The Evolution of Design’. This will take visitors on a magical journey through the full spectrum of motoring history, from the earliest horseless carriages right up to the latest supercars. A series of specially curated displays will be enhanced by insightful interviews staged in the show’s central Theatre where experts and enthusiasts will share their passions and experiences on the history of car design.

With confirmation of the lifting of lockdown, visitors can now buy tickets with added confidence. As in 2020, adult admission is available in advance from £25 (£30 on the day) with a limited number of Premium upgrades also on offer.

Providing further reassurance for all ticket buyers, full refunds (excluding booking and transaction fees) will still be offered should the show be cancelled as a result of Covid-19.

Staged in the spectacular grounds of Syon Park, the capital city’s premier attraction for all classic car lovers – whether owners, collectors, connoisseurs or enthusiasts – is staged on the first weekend after the lifting of all lockdown protocols. And, after so many months of social distancing, the Talks Theatre is certain to be a major attraction as car lovers renew friendships and reignite passions.

Over all three days of the mid-summer outdoor show, Tiff will be interviewing a succession of high-profile personalities and leading lights from within the classic car and wider motoring sectors.

“After what we’ve all been through recently I’m really, really looking forward to it,” enthused Needell. “We all are in desperate need of some stimulating chat and where better to get tongues wagging once again than in the Talks Theatre at The London Classic Car Show. Celebrating the occasion, I’ll be doing my very best to ensure all my guests are both enlightening and entertaining.”

The forum’s main topic of conversation will focus on the show’s central theme of ‘The Evolution of Design’ with some of the world’s top car designers sharing their thoughts on 135 years of automotive progress. It is an intriguing journey that has taken motoring from pioneering horseless carriages to the latest futuristic electric sportscars and a timeline which will be celebrated by seven special feature displays within the show, each one dedicated to an exciting epoch.

Stirring further discussions, visitors will be encouraged to ask their own questions while Needell will, no doubt, add further interest by including relevant stories from his own career, which includes being a TV presenter on BBC Top Gear, Fifth Gear and the now the Lovecars programme on YouTube as well as racing in Formula 1 and standing on the podium at Le Mans 24 Hours race.

“We are delighted that Tiff will be joining us at The London Classic Car Show,” confirmed Mark Woolley, Show Director. “Whether through television or his racing exploits, Tiff is much-admired in motoring circles and his presence in the Talks Theatre will add another exciting and dynamic dimension to what’s going to be a very welcome celebration of magical car culture through the ages.”

As well as the opportunity to join Needell and his guests in the Talks Theatre, all visitors to The London Classic Car Show will also be treated to special showcases marking the centenary of the Bugatti Brescia and 60 years of the Jaguar E-type, once described as ‘the world’s most beautiful sportscar’ by the legendary Enzo Ferrari.

There will also be the wonderful opportunity to buy a classic car either via one of the many dealers bringing their own dazzling displays to Syon Park or from the Classic Car Auctions sale which will see 120 tempting lots going under the hammer over the weekend. Cars already confirmed include a 1984 ‘Mini 25’ Limited Edition, 1986 Jaguar XJ-S HE and 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera.

Tickets for The London Classic Car Show are on sale and offer significant savings for those buying now. As in 2020, adult admission tickets for Friday, Saturday and Sunday are available in advance from just £25 (£30 on the day).

REVVING UP ON THE LIME AVENUE AT THE LONDON CLASSIC CAR SHOW

• Live driving displays on the historic carriageway in front of Syon House
• Spectacular twice daily shows featuring past and present motoring icons
• Entrance to Lime Avenue performances included in the price of admission
• Advance tickets on sale, offering significant savings for those buying now

Visitors to next month’s eagerly-awaited The London Classic Car Show (25-27 June) will not only savour dazzling displays featuring hundreds of the world’s finest cars from yesteryear – but they will also be treated to the evocative sights and sounds of their favourite automotive icons in heart stirring live action.

Adding yet another captivating dimension to the capital city’s ultimate showpiece for classic car owners, collectors, connoisseurs and enthusiasts, selected exhibits from the show’s central ‘Evolution of Design’ feature will be revving up for special parades on the Lime Avenue at the event in Syon Park, West London.

“It won’t be fast but it will be spectacular,” vowed Mark Woolley, Show Director. “Can you imagine the truly unique 1896 Salvesen Steam Car brewing up alongside one of the latest supercars or a mighty aero-engined beast from the 1910s spitting flames alongside a beautiful Jaguar E-type from London’s Swinging Sixties – these sights and sounds really are not to be missed.”

Ensuring everyone can savour these eye-catching exploits, dedicated viewing areas will be provided on either side of the tree-lined driveway and admission is included in the great value ticket price. There will be two separate 45-minute performances staged at 12:45 and 15:30 on all three days of the mid-summer car-themed extravaganza.

With its own great history, the majestic Lime Avenue will provide the perfect backdrop for these distinctive motoring pantheons. Back in the 18th century, it was the dramatic culmination to Syon House’s main drive which ran through the surrounding estate as laid out by the illustrious landscaper Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown. The carriageway stretched from Robert Adam’s impressive Lion Gate on the London Road (now A315) to the battlemented stately home of the Duke of Northumberland, set on the banks of the River Thames.

Today the Lion Gate is permanently closed and instead the westerly drive from Park Road has become the popular estate’s main entrance. The historic Lime Avenue, though, is preserved with its original gravel surface and, conveniently, runs parallel to picturesque parkland where The London Classic Car Show is now sited for 2021.

Moreover, the interactive attractions do not stop there. Providing further live entertainment well-known broadcaster Tiff Needell will be interviewing a host of motoring celebrities and luminaries in the busy Talks Theatre while Classic Car Auctions will be on site selling no fewer than 120 highly-desirable classics from magical bygone eras over the weekend.

Add in special anniversary displays to celebrate the centenary of the marque defining Bugatti Brescia and 60 years of the enduringly beautiful Jaguar E-type – as well as a host of glittering displays by classic car dealer and ever-enthusiastic car clubs – and it is easy to see why tickets are proving so popular.

And even more so as the show is taking place on the very first weekend after the planned lifting of all lockdown protocols offering the classic car community the welcome opportunity to reignite their passions and businesses.

Adult admission for Friday, Saturday and Sunday costs just £25 when tickets are purchased in advance, rising to £30 on the day. A limited number of Premium Experience Tickets are also on offer for those the ultimate VIP day out.

BMW JOINS THE BIRTHDAY PARTY AT THE LONDON CLASSIC CAR SHOW

• Official BMW club celebrates 50th anniversary of the seminal 2002 Tii
• Eye-catching display also features 328, 507 and M3 icons
• Bugatti, Jaguar and Lancia also honouring major marque milestones
• Advance tickets on sale, offering significant savings for those buying now

There will be plenty of celebrations later this month at The London Classic Car Show, taking place at Syon Park from 25 to 27 June.

The arrival of summer sunshine will fuel festivities as will special birthday displays to celebrate milestones in Bugatti, Lancia and Jaguar histories. Both the Bugatti Brescia and Lancia Lambda reach their centuries in 2021 while the treasured Jaguar E-type turns 60 with a sensational display of racing and road models taking Syon Park by storm.

Not to be left out, the officially blessed BMW Car Club of GB will be marking the 50th birthday of the Bavarian company’s seminal 2002 Tii. Launched back in 1971, the 2002 Tii transformed BMW’s fortunes and laid the foundations for its now famous sporty saloon credentials.

With its newly fuel injected 2-litre engine, wider tyres, bigger brakes and beefed-up rear-wheel-drive chassis, the Tii model offered an intoxicating mix of fine handling and then pace-setting 118mph performance.

To mark the model’s golden anniversary, the club will have two of these seminal sporty saloons – as well as an example of the later 2002 Turbo – on its stand at The London Classic Car Show and will also be screening a selection of special BMW 2002 videos and images for visitors to enjoy.

Adding to the display – and ensuring BMW’s full history is on show – the club will also be exhibiting an early 328 from the thirties, a stunning 507 roadster from the fifties (both kindly loaned by BMW UK), a beautifully restored E12 530LE, a rare E30 M3 Evo 2 and a mighty Alpina B10 alongside other significant and sought-after Bee-Ems such as an E21 323i, a E36 328i Sport and a stunning 635 CSi coupe.

“We have a fabulous selection of classic BMWs at The London Classic Car Show topped by the pair of iconic 2002 Tiis,” confirmed Richard Stern, Chair of the 02 Register. “The excitement is building, the juices are flowing and we can’t wait to start renewing friendships once again.”

As well as celebrating stand-out marque and model milestones, this year The London Classic Car Show is dedicated to showcasing the full 135 years of magical motoring history under its ‘The Evolution of Design’ central theme, with special displays taking visitors on an enchanting and captivating trip down memory lane.

Adult admission costs just £25 when purchased in advance and tickets not only provides access to huge displays featuring 500+ classic cars but also to the Talks Theatre and the Lime Avenue outside Syon House where a number of the stand-out cars on show will be revving up for evocative live parades in the summer sunshine.

Capacity is limited and any remaining tickets will be available from £30 on the gate. A limited number of gold-standard Premium Experience Tickets are also on offer for those wanting the ultimate VIP day out.
