The bodywork of a pickup truck consists of the cab at the front and what I call "the boxy bit that you put stuff in" at the back.
Whats the correct term for this part?

I'm not sure what the official term is, but "tub & bed" are often used.

Thanks Dave, that's what I'll call it now.

Hi
I wonder if it depends on whether it is coach built/blended with the cab, or is an open top box planted on the chassis rails.

I always think of them as a ‘bed’

Ok this is funny, I've literally just got back from taking my 3 year old grandson to the park. He took his toy dumper truck to play in the sand pit.He is obsessed with all things to do with construction vehicles (and knows the names of all the different type of diggers). But unfortunately the back bit fell off it. He asked me:
"Grandpa can you put the load bed back on?"
Next time I want to know something I'll ask him!

It sounds like he should be encouraged to get into tin plate construction vehicles. At least they don't fall apart. These things are soaring in price and if he started collecting now imagine how much they will be worth in years to come?

The antiques of the future.
