Car Transplants in Nantwich , a local landmark is closing, originally a blacksmiths its been been at its current site for as long as I can remember. It became part a a larger group a few years ago and they are consolidating operations.

I'll be sad to see it go, although it struck me that its years since I last made a visit, years ago I used to be a regular customer keeping whatever banger I was running at the time on the road!

Do they still have other sites operating? I seem to recall they had others around the area? Shame to see them go but I suppose since it became no longer possible to walk around these places, anyone looking for s/h parts just goes online for them.

Oh, that is a real pity, I've had some decent parts from there, at decent prices. It was much better when you could walk around - I got some quite good "alternate use" parts when I couldn't find exactly what I wanted.

There was a site at Winsford that sold salvage vehicles, I haven't been there for decades. It was on the old "Fords of Winsford" site, before they moved out to larger premises.

I wonder if they'll be having a closing-down sale? What gems might still be hidden away there.

Went past the site today, all the tall racks with cars awaiting stripping appear to have gone.
