The user name and signature are from when I had a 1947 Rover.

Four light sports saloon ... very nice, was it a 20 by any chance?
Our 'daily' is a 23yr. old E39 & my own classic is just that ... a 34yr. old Range Rover with only 58K on the clock & neither of them is a rust-bucket.

A great many models have served me well since the 'sixties, all of them old & some even older than me.

Rover ceased producing the 20hp in 1939, as mine was a 1947 the 16hp was their top model by then. This was one of the last P2s off the production line on 30th December 1947, loaded onto a ship on 5th January and sent to Sydney where it stayed until 2003

Seldom went to a show without coming back with an award

Bit out with my date then !

Thanks for the pictures, making me drool Crying or Very sad What a lovely car.

I'd love a 'real' classic but not prepared to give up either of mine to create the space. Once into rented storage the hobby gets very expensive & if it's any distance away you wind up not using the car often enough ... been there when I owned a couple of WW2 trucks through the 'eighties & into the early 'noughties.

Enjoy the Rover, you may even get a chance to exhibit it this year.
