Morning all,

There's a new kid in town. Continuing the vague plan to cut back on things needing lots of work, and instead concentrate more on vehicles that actually run, a new arrival arrived on our doorstep a few days ago.

More details soon, but a quick intro to it has been uploaded here:

Hi
Nice little motor, if it hasn't been "mucked about" does that mean not taking it out in the rain because it still has the vacuum wipers? Very Happy

I notice that it and other pictures use the red oval with Anglia written in it I've also seen same shape Pop's with what looks like a red oval, whereas the Prefect of the the same time seems top have used a Shield shaped badge with a red ground.
As the blue oval with Ford in it was well known by that time, even though Ford had dropped it for a few years; I wonder why they started to use the shape with a red ground.

A super addition to the fleet.

I've mentioned it elsewhere, but if not already a member, I recommend joining the FSOC?

If only for access to the Club's spares department? Nothing like having easy access to consumables?

Also, the Club's experts will put you on track regarding the tools?

I've been in and out of the FSOC over the last 30 years or so, but yes I'll probably re-join soon.

A car in a beautiful, almost perfect condition for an originality lover.
Not my cup of tea because I try to stay away from cars that cannot realistically use motorways. This will be too slow and unstable for that.

Yes it's definitely a car for pottering around local roads, not long distances. I wouldn't mind something capable of longer trips.

On Drive It Day, Anglia (or perhaps it should be christened "scruff"?) met up with dad's Minor to say hello.

Looks very drivable.

I couldn't think why there was a motor attached below the dynamo until I spotted that it wasn't a shaft coming out the front but rather a pipe connection.

Peter.

Love it! , youngsters of today who only potter should look at this, rather than claiming some bright yellow 90's Jap car is a classic!

Knowing that this is the replacement for the Talbot makes the big car's departure just a little more bearable. I'm not sure I'd be able to resist the urge to get the polish out on the little Anglia, I imagine that paint will come up a treat, only problem then is it might lose some of its current charm. Thankfully, not a decision I have to battle with!
