An interesting-looking machine - I have no idea on its identity, but the registration number is a Nottingham number from 1951, which may, or may not, offer a clue to someone. _________________ in the garage: 1938 Talbot Ten Airline

I am also at a loss with this one but it looks like a professionally built special of some kind.
Best of luck |

Hi Sid
Are you thinking of the 50's television starlet whose name was later applied to these coaches.

Nooooo! Not the lovely Norma Sykes . I was thinking of something French, and I don't mean Bridget Bardot! |

The grill looks very much like a modified 1937-8 Hillman Minx. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

Any possibility it was built as a competition car for ,say, "Monte Carlo Rally". Those extra lights and possibly a powerful engine. ideal for night stages. Do we have the name of the owner back in he 50's ?
Not the same car but not a million miles away. 1951 Monte'

Headlights mounted that way suggests Pierce-Arrow to me. They used that design back in the 1920's.
Having said that, all of the P-A's that I can find, seem to have their headlamps more towards the top of the mudguards. I am thinking that it is something from Europe perhaps even Russia that is part-inspired by P-A. _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |

The Jowett Jupiter was/is a work of art in it's own right. I remember I was on holiday in Bournemouth and an immaculate red one was parked in the street. It stood out from the usual drab family cars and attracted my Dad's attention (It had to be different to do that) and sparked my interest in classic cars.
Still hanker after one....

The headlights remind me of Delahaye, pre-war. |

Do you think the front wings, wheels & hub caps come from the same source? _________________ Mike - MVPeters at comcast.net
