OV 7554: The wheels are pre-1934 Riley Nine, and the radiator could well have Riley origins. The headlamps are Rotax, which were an option on some early 1930s Riley, the rest looks typical early 1950s special. _________________ in the garage: 1938 Talbot Ten Airline

Here's another one from a Club correspondent. Halifax Station, apparently 1940. I rather doubt that, as none of the vehicles have black-out precautions.

Specifically, can we identify the second car on the left - duo tone with it's back towards us? Suggestion is Wolseley 14/56, but I suspect that the rear proportions are incorrect.
Thanks,

The standard Wolseley 14/56 has a more upright shape to the boot/spare wheel and a one-piece rear bumper, but the rest of the car looks like a Wolseley - the rear window size and shape, the swooping waistline, and the shape of the badge on the spare wheel all fit. Maybe a special coachbuilt body? _________________ in the garage: 1938 Talbot Ten Airline

The rear window definitely looks Morris/Wolseley Series II but the spare wheel appears to be positioned much higher in the Halifax photo.

Definitely a suicide front door, which is open....Opels don't appear to have been fitted with those? _________________ Dellow Mk2, 1951 built, reg 1952.

My thoughts did wander to Opel but they have the full rear bumper. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

Hmm - 14/56 has the spare wheel covered and a low-set full width bumper.
Some sort of 14/6 variant perhaps?

My first thought was a late 30's Rover 12/14 , largish rear window spare wheel cover and fairly high quarter bumpers and often two tone paint. _________________ old tourer
