The first image was taken on Trent Street Nottingham looking north. You can just make out the script above the shop on the right 'Atkeys Motors' who eventually was a main BMC dealer in Nottingham, and surrounding areas. |

That's interesting; I've just acquired a box-full of Austin Magazines which came from Atkeys (they were situated on Church Street, Lenton, in the 1960s) _________________ in the garage: 1938 Talbot Ten Airline
Recently departed: 1953 Lancia Appia, 1931 Austin Seven, 1967 Singer Chamois, 1914 Saxon, 1930 Morris Cowley, 1936 BSA Scout, 1958 Lancia Appia coupe, 1922 Star 11.9 ... the list goes on! |

Probably a Vulcan, then!
Most Vulcans from around 1910 were fitted with worm-drive, and this was standardised across the range in 1912; the picture looks as though the drive to the rear axle is above the line of the half-shafts. I would date the car as 1912-14, so it all seems to fit. _________________ in the garage: 1938 Talbot Ten Airline
