Hi folks,
I've just acquired an Allgro Estate automatic. (Thanks for the sympathy).
All was fine for the first few days, then it started slipping on each gearchange and juddering if Iwas acclerating (I use that term in its most gentle sense) when it changed up Runs ok when its in a gear though, but the engine is a bit smoky and the oil light flickers when stationary and in drive.
I assume its generally worn out, unless anyone knows of an easy fix, but I'm assuming the worst.
Anyway, assuming I keep the car I'd need a replacement engine and box. Would one from a Mini or Metro fit? I know its basically the same thing but not sure about any detail changes between models. Just wondering what I should look out for.
Also if anyone knows of a suitable unit please let me know, of if anyone has a longing for a not very good Allegro estate do get it touch! Smile

cheers
Iain
