Sorting through the stuff in the garage gave me chance to blow the dust off these 2 old bikes. The ladies bike I bought years ago, and is fitted up with a number of essential accessories, such as a large rrrrring-rrrring bell and the tennis racket holder fitted to the front forks, along with a period stand and lamp. The eagle-eyed reader will spot the dynohub in the front wheel.

The gent's machine is a more recent purchase and as-yet has few options fitted, although it does sport a jolly fine Raleigh bicycle pump on the down tube.

Hi I'm a new member - spent most of my time so far on the old footpump thread!

I've got some pictures of an old Royal Enfield push bike of my father's - dating from the 20's I think - which I restored a couple of years ago - hopefully fairly sensitively. Royal Enfield - their marketing logo 'Built like a Gun'! I'll try and put up some before and after pics tonight.

Heres some before and after shots of my restored 1920's Royal Enfield pushbike. It was recovered from a rubbish cart by my father in the 1950's and he painted it the red/maroon colour. He used it for many years for cycling and carrying potatoes back from his allotment.

I inherited it a couple of years ago when he died and I took it to bits and gave it a bare metal respray in original ( I think) black and repaired everything that was needed.

It was dated by an old chap in a bike shop in Cheltenham who knew the model number of the Sturmey Archer three speed.

I've got to do some more work on the rims which are rusting through. Probably paint with black hammerite - I dont think chrome was used so much then?

Happy viewing
