Is it me or is 20/50 getting less easy to find? ok it turns up at autojumbles on stalls, and Halfords occasionally has some pricey stuff. Other than that its just the watery rubbish on sale for £2.99 at B&Q and the like. Many outlets just sell the more modern synthetics and semi-synthetics it seems, grrrr, wheres my Duckhams Q when I need it???

I use the halfrauds stuff in the green tin but it doesn't 'gloop' out of the tin like Castrol the old GTX used to!

The thing about oil thats been annoying me for a while, is where to find SAE80 or 90, and not this 80W/90 rubbish....

I do find it strange that you seem to be having difficulty finding 20/50 though.....

There aren't too many motor factors around here, I think thats the problemo - filling stations only sell small quantities of modern oils (£££), and bread, and the few motor factors local to here sell bits n pieces, but give over rather too much of their floor to bicycle parts and hi-fi gubbins. I called into a motor sports place this afternoon, thinking that there was an outside chance that they may sell proper things, but all they had was big exhausts for Saxos and the like

Hi

Morris lubricants are local aren't they, surely they will have something, I think Country Wide at Drayton and Whitchurch are agents, they may be able to order you something?

Cheers

yeah could try them, Ted (local garage) doesn't seem to rate Morris' oil but I guess it can't be too bad!

Hi

Fuchs is in Stoke they are local, again I have never used there oil either? They must have dealers localally or maybe they have a trade counter?

Cheers

Dave

I was in ASDA this morning and they're selling an "Own Brand" 20/50 for £4.38 a gallon.

I get my Duckhams 20/50 from the very nice people up here in the Aston Martin Owners Club. Very Happy
The local Secretary buys it in bulk and sells it in packs of 4 gallons - perhaps contacting some of the larger "one-make" clubs in your area might provide a similar opporchancity?

If I ever get the chance to come across, perhaps I should pack boxes of oil instead of shirts and socks?
I`d be happy to send over some if the shipping wasn`t so bad!

Just out of curiousity, why must it be Duckhams? I always used to use it myself, but that was 25 years ago. Nowadays I have started to use synthetic blended, still in 20/50.

Quaker State is a good one, and available in the UK as well.
