Can anyone answer these for certain regarding the interior of an XK150 convertible.

Is the dash padded or wood?

Are the carpets, seats etc the same colour, or are there highlights such as piping that contrast?

Not sure! have you tried thumbing through google images? I suppose not all cars are restored to original, but hopefully it'll give some clues..

Hi Rick,

No, but I will do!

I would like my answer to be 100% accurate, and I have a feeling that it will be as you say, not all cars are restored to original.

I will admit though, I did feel like strangling the guy, or giving a totally incorrect answer....he said that the XK150 wasnt a quality car..... Shocked

I'll bet that there are a few comments on here about that statement!

My XK150 story

In 1996 my best mate who was Chairman of our local classic car club died aged 48.

His wife wanted me to drive his XK150 at the head of the funeral convoy.

The car had been laid up for the winter so I had five days to get it running, cleaned and MOT'd. The dynamo was not charging so I took it to another friend who runs an auto electrical business. As I pulled into his workshop he told me it was his dream car but he had never driven one. I left the car with him to recon the dynamo and when I returned the next day he called me an absolute B*****RD.

He had taken it for a spin and hated the gearbox, steering, brakes, and driving position. I had totally destroyed his dream that he had nurtured since childhood!

The funeral went off well with almost 100 classic cars following the Hearse, fortunately I had arranged a police escort and we had motorcycle outriders stopping all traffic as we made our way to the church.
