Hi
The idea of twin fans mounted in front of the rad is one Bristol have used for some time and if you use fans with black blades they don't show up too badly.

good point colwyn500, the mechanical fan when I first restored the engine bay was sprayed in satin black, but I couldn't see it with the engine on while I was working on it so it got sprayed yellow during the engine rebuild!!
However I was referring to electric fans positioned between the grill and the radiator and there's no way you can get to them unless you take off either the grill or the radiator!
Think that is what I'll eventually end up doing, just switching them from the inside when the temperature starts to rise a little when moving slowly or when I encounter traffic!!

Took it out for a run last sunday, my daughter and wife came for the ride as well.
It behaved itself and the temperature kept on normal throughout the trip even though we had somewhere in the region of 30/32 degrees and we encountered some traffic so I'll just skip on the idea of fitting electric fans for the time being!!

Thanks, and as I said in your thread yours is very original and has got very nice patina, I'd just clear coat it in a semi matt lacquer.

Yesterday I took this out for a run together with my family to a garden centre, the weather was glorious and the drive was a nice one.

Your car was on TV yesterday Cool

It was in the movie "Killer Elite" with Jason Statham.

Driven by the bad guys, and even same colour as your car Cool

Also found the JanSpeed catalouge.

They did conversion sets for Hillman - Singer - Avenger .

Is the 1500 engine in the Avenger the same as in your car ?

Will have to watch it then!!

The 1500 in the avenger is not the same unit as fitted to the arrow range cars!

Its been some time since I've updated this thread!!
In February I managed to change the oil and filter and have a general look at the underside and so on, everything looks fine although I need to repaint part of the driver side wheel on the back and part of the disc brake dust cover since one of the calipers had leaked and the paint is peeling off badly now!!
No time for it presently as I am restoring a 1940's rod braked Phillips gentleman touring bike right now!!

This is getting some frequent use at present since I cannot use my daily.
Sharing daily duties with the blue mini or whenever I need a bigger car to take out all the family!!
