I have found a use for the Battricar, the one that aroused so much apathy in the 'for sale' section.
I propose to turn it into an electric 'Dolly' for moving my trailer and boat trailer around.
After ten minutes with a disc cutter and spanner I was left with the drive unit, complete with wheels and 'lekky' bits, and the handle with the controls on.
Idea is: to weld the handle to the sub-frame and fabricate brackets to secure a towing ball in a suitable position and contain the battery.
Well; that's the theory but I'm sure to have overlooked some important point?
Don.

interesting!! I had thought that it'd be a decent power unit for my little pedal car, but too many projects as it is!! will you have to mod the gearing, if the battricar motor is to pull a heavy trailer??

Found the drive unit to be too wide for the average pedal car and the work to narrow it was quite considerable, that's the main reason I never finished the project.
I did have some thoughts about the gearing and if it would be right for a 'dolly'. But it must be low enough for some fat old geezer to drive up the kerb; so we'll see.
I can always play with the sprocket sizes if nescessary.
I too, have too many projects, and on top of that I have to find time to go fishing in my new boat.
What is it one of you say, too many toys?
