I may have mentioned it somewhere before, but dad has been fettling up this little Wolseley 1500 over the last couple of months or so, and today it passed its MOT!! we think that it has been off the road since 1986, and yet it didn't require tooooo much work to get it sorted out. A bit of welding underneath, some service items replaced (tyres, stainless exhaust, hoses) and brake work, and it passed with no Advisories.
Here's a photo of when I dropped it off at my folks' place:

Hi
I never knew about that little number, has your father been restoring cars a long time, or have you got him into it?
Cheers

He's always been interested in cars, and introduced me to them when I was a nipper. He's hasn't really been 'in to' running classics as such, other than when they were just everyday old cars, if you see what I mean, and keeping them running by working on them himself.
He did dabble with a Minor pickup conversion some years ago, but this is the first classic he's fettled up and put on the road. When him and mum were courting in the 60s he ran a Riley One-Point-Five, so taking on this Wolseley 1500 (which is almost identical to the Riley version) is a bit of a blast from the past I think!! more yarns about his car history can be found on this page (needs updating):

I learnt to drive in a Wolsley 1500. What I remember was the poor brakes. They were good on the day you adjusted them but that was all. |
