Hi

I think me and Rick have spoken about this in the past, how great a commercial run up the horshoe pass would be. Hearing them bark up the hill, then a spot of dinner at the cafe at the top, then a run into llangollen etc.

Does anyone know if this type of run happens already, if not maybe we should set it up, how do you go about a meeting, if it is an imformal meeting one pm, how do you go about it?

Cheers

Dave

there is a run called the Heart of Wales, that one runs past Bala I think - not sure if this is the same one as goes up the Horseshoe Pass, but could well be

Hi

Doesn't seem to be much on Google about it, but will try the Bala run, and see what pops up.

Cheers

Dave

P.S... I was just speaking with my dad about this run and the E83W. I would have thought, E83W's would be great on hills, being so low geared, what do others think?

Hi

Yep sounds like the one, but it goes all over wales, the bit on the Pass is the bit that interests me mainly.

Cheers

I've got a copy of this DVD on loan, from the 2005 running of it:
http://www.vintagescene.co.uk/Commercial_09.htm

The E83W would climb up the side of a house with its gearing, given time...

Hi

That looks pretty damn good.

I told that to dad, but he was teasing me, saying I would have to get a push up the hill! Crying or Very sad Laughing

in truth you might find that it'd hold up some of the big-engined lorries on the really steep bits, so it'd be wise to set off ahead of the main bunch, perhaps with the real oldies (if any of them take part?).

On some of the slightly cheesy lorry run videos I've got Embarassed it shows the real oldtimers having a head start on the main bunch. With lorries from the 80s entering preservation now, choosing a start time would be something to consider

I'd like to take the Dodge on the Cheshire Run one day, at least I wouldn't have to travel too far away from home (at 4-5mpg...)

You'll be going too slow to see it... Laughing Laughing Laughing

I don't know if I'll be able to make it - what are the exact dates for this event?

Hi

What do you mean I will be going too slow to see it, we will all be creeping. Following a steam engine if I have anything to do with it! I will be following at top speed, and everyone else will be burning there clutch slipping all the way up!

Then I will remember who teased me when it comes to needing a lift home, or a tow! Wink Wink Laughing

hehehe

Cheers
