It amazes me that stuff like this can still be found seventy years after the battle in which it fought!

Russia being so large and partly due to being formerly Communist I suppose has enabled such finds to turn up quite often.

See it here. http://www.warbirdfinders.co.uk/aircraft_BF109E_wn3523.htm

I've always fancied the idea of a gate guardian Smile just need a bit more room. Dad and I wisely (!) bought the cockpit section of a Fairey Gannet a few years ago. Last I heard it was on loan to an ATC squadron (must ask dad about that sometime)

Hi

Make sure you don't loose track of here.

I do like the one in the advert, you could have it on the roof like mr Gibbons used to! Laughing

Cheers

i saw a TV programme covering the restoration of a MkV Panther Tank that had been retrieved from a riverbed in Soviet territory. the Soviets had salvaged several German tanks from a battle site but judge this one too difficult to remove at the time. frankly i'm amazed that the Soviets didn't melt the Me109 down for scrap. they're not known for historical nostalgia.

That 109 would look so good in my garden as it is.

Isnt the distressed look in fashion at present?

While mooching about on the net I found this forum topic, epaves d'avion (aircraft wrecks)
Somehow having a WWII Veteran aircraft in the garden seems easier!

Now who was it who was asking if that Alvis was real or not? Very Happy

That little DC3 in the coal bunker is definitely a model. Wink

I wonder if the nose of say a B-17 would make a good garden shed or gazebo? And what a water feature the 50 calibers would be! Laughing

Here's your greenhouse UJ Laughing

Or perhaps a potting shed!

I'd prefer a big old Radial engine as my garden centrepiece I think! Cool
