Hello everyone Smile
Im after some information about my New car which im in the process of buying.

The guy im buying it from doesn’t know much more than me about it. And he’s had it for 30 years. Its called a Jeffrey J4. It was made in 1972 (Old L reg). its has a 1.6 pre cross flow engine in him, He is rear wheel drive etc.
The guy tells me he found this out from a classic car show that there were only 36 of theses made. And his is Number 3.

Theses are the only pictures I have of him so far. He is very dirty here with mint paint work, but the pics are just really to show you the shape….. It is a fully fiberglass body.

Kind regards to anyone who can offer information on this,

Mark

I've certainly heard of the 'Jeffrey' car but whether I've got any info, I don't know. I bet 70s copies of Hot Car would mention it, have you tried looking through old magazines to see if there's a reference? Car and Car Conversions is another mag worth looking at Smile

Rick

PS welcome to the forum

PPS I may move this to the Your Cars section sometime if thats ok?

Rick
I am sure that a few weeks ago there was a link to a site which was a sort of catalogue of Kit Cars with info about each one.
i think it was around the time when we were looking at that Typhoon or the little Peels.

But now I can't find any such link. Have I been dreaming? Shocked Confused

Hmmm not sure - for 50s specials there is this site:

http://www.1950sspecials.com/

not sure about later kit cars though, there seems to be some info on the Jeffrey J4 on the net, eg here:

http://www.jeffreykitcar.co.uk/MarqueHistory/
http://www.classic-kitcars.com/classic-kitcar-details.php?43

To be honest I don't know much about them, I'd have thought a decent one *might* be worth £1500-2000 or so, but this really is just a guesstimate without knowing anything about the company, whoever set it up etc... perhaps their scarcity makes them worth more (sometimes but not always the case with older cars Smile). It'd be one for real kit-car fanatics, rather than your mainstream classic buyer I suspect!

Hi
Can't be certain, but I think that your car features in the gallery on that jeffreykitcar site, it's Blue and appears to have a 4 in the centre of the reg plate.

looking at some of the links here it's making me think that it might be a J4 after all, but maybe a JS5?
