Old wooden toys appeal to me, perhaps due to their simplicity (we have that in common!). The large tipper lorry in the photo below is by Chad Valley, 'By Appointment Toymakers to H.M. The Queen' so presumably dating from the 50s although looks older. It is in quite good nick, complete with decals on the side and original bakelite wheels (treaded to the rear). I think my gran bought this for me from a jumble sale (10p rings a bell) when I was knee-high to a grasshopper. My young brother was going to re-paint it matt black, but I rescued it from that fate! It now resides in a cabinet, acting as a hauler for the incomplete Schuco Mercedes in the back
The tiddler is by Tri-ang, I've not seen one this small before and I don't know how old it is, I think a length of string would be affixed to the pin on the front to allow a nipper to pull it along.
