Hi all,
Ive just taken some pictures of my ford pop. Its been laid up for about 6 months while i cleaned up and waxoiled underneath. Ive also took the fuel tank down and checked the whole boot/chassis area. All seems ok with no rot anywhere. ( lucky) I should have checked this a while ago, when we got caught out in the flood/rainstorms. ( couple of years back now)
On that particular day one months worth of rain fell in the essex/suffolk area in one day. (Anyone else remember that day too.)
Lets all hope the weather is kinder to us this year. ( my poor vacuum wiper had been working overtime.)
Regards,
Flywheel-(john)

JR that is one of the prettiest Pops I've seen for a while!
Do you have an oil bath air filter for it? I have one if you ever want one. |

Hello all, Thanks very much for all your kind posts on here. Yes at last he's ready to hit the road, and all safe and legal too.
I know these little motors are not worth a great deal of money, and dont go very fast, but i do remember them from my own childhood. I think it was the shape of them that got me, ive always wanted one. ( funny the things you remember eh.)
Old nail, yes please if you have one going spare, perhaps i could message you. ( if thats ok)
Can i say ive enjoyed looking at all your pictures, projects and updates on here, i try and read as many of them as i can. ( wife permitting )
regards

Very Fine indeed!!
How clean it is under the bonnet etc, has there been much work mechanically in the past?

Yes PM me and I'll take your details. I'll post a picture of it to make sure it's the right one but I'm almost certain that it is. |

Thanks Dave,
I bought the pop in march 1992. My other half spotted it for sale by a local van hire company. It was a runner (but looking grubby as it had been left in the corner of a lock-up) over the years ive probably spent (too much) money on it, tidying up and fiddling about. I took the engine out to be re-built in 2002, and then just went on from there. ( i think we all know how these things go eh guys)
Full engine re-build-complete clutch/flywheel-carb-recon starter motor - fuel pipes, mounts etc, wiring under the dash, then engine bay clean up and paint.
Ive had a great deal of fun with this little car, met some interesting people, and i think ive learned a little bit about the car too.
We will both be 53 this year, so i hope we can keep going for a few years yet. regards flywheel. ( john) |
