What year is your car JR?
Here is an advert from 1947, I can't imagine Ford using these words in the environmental economy we live in today.

And look at the prices Shocked

I've seen a lot of stock Pops but none come close to being this nice. It's good to see one that's had engine work. Most i've seen have great bodywork but a rusty old engine. This is the full package, good work!

(my own car dates from 1955)

Hello, yes i dont suppose ford motors would use those words today, But then looking at the prices of their cars, they were in real terms very expensive. You could buy a house for that sort of money, I dont think working class people could afford a motor. I know my own father never owned anything as nice. Too much money for him. Thank you for posting the cover, i will try and find my own copy of the autocar dated 1949.

Hello craig, Thank you for your post on here.

As ive had my car for 16 years now, ive spoken to a great number of folk who run these motors, Its a good thing that other people are helpful and want to pass on their own knowledge; they've certainly helped me out.

Ive enjoyed reading your own posts on here too craig. Keep sending them in.
Regards Flywheel-(john)

Hi ianm,
Blimey mate what a question to ask an old guy..( i was 53 yestaday same age as the car now.)

Ive just nipped down to the garage because you got me scratching my head. It was teak oil, some of the other guys told me to use it on the bakelite surrounds and steering wheel. It did'nt come up too bad eh.

( makes a change in england the sun came out when i was taking my pictures.)
regards JRF

Thanks JR, I do a bit of wood work and I think I have some taek oil amongst my burnishing oils, will give it a go.
Your right years ago you could do everything to your car yourself but now unless you have the computer to hook it up to your not in the race.
53 happy birthday I'm a 1948 model on the 5th April

Beautiful Car John, I did look at this post a few days ago and thought I'd posted, but obviously not. Anyway, what lovely condition, I hope to see it 'In the Flesh' one day.
It may be just me but even though it's the same car as mine, I still love to look at other Peoples, even if there were 10 in a row?? Shocked Rolling Eyes Laughing Laughing
Great pictures, all the Best,
Greg
