How do you get on for refreshment when spending hour's in the workshop?
Many "better-halves" would rather bring you a cuppa, than have you tread dirty feet into the house to make your own Laughing

I am divorced so my son has the job of providing the cups of tea, but he just don't do as many as I would like. I have finally taught him not to put it on the cold concrete after years of cold tea. I was thinking of trying to rig up some sort of heated base for my mug to be placed on. Just enough heat to keep it hot, but not stew it. You know what it's like, you get engrossed and your tea is cold. Rolling Eyes

I drink a lot of green tea with mint especially in the barn because it is ok cold and hot and you dont need milk.
I have a kettle and cups with tuppaware tubs with green tea in coffee/coffee mate.

I also have one of the intercoms that works via the power socket and just press the button and ask nicely Cool best 60€ I spent Laughing
I also have an old comfortable car seat rigged up on a frame for a sit down once in a while, especially if I need to scan through a magazine or manual

Er! a wine box for those moments of reflection, but taken in moderation or I can't find my way back to the house. Memsahib likes to bring out tea occasionally to make sure I'm not trapped under a car or have harmed myself in some other way. Laughing Laughing

I miss old Wesley, could really identify with him. Remember him finding one of the last surviving 'Locksley Lozenge' cars, and eulogise about his good fortune. What we saw of the car looked like the remains of a Sit-up-and-beg Ford. Laughing Laughing

Back to the workshop refreshment topic.

Before I get dirty I make myself two mugs of coffee, one for immediate consumption and the other in my travel mug that is still hot after 2-3 hours.

I still need to go in the house an hour or so later to get the liquid out of my system (there's posh for you!)

My solution has been to develop a tolerance to cold tea. If you cant have wet and warm I simply settle for wet!

I was wondering if I could make a frame to hold something like quarry tile with a small candle under it or a bulb. You wouldn't want it too hot just enough to slow down the mug of tea going cold. Laughing
Flippin Eck, I have enough to do on this truck, what am I talking about Smile

My wife has bags of corn scented with flowery things tat you put in a micro onde and they stay hot for a good couple of hours (to put around a tired neck or joint)
You obviously wouldnt want the scent but the idea is there

To keep coffe warm here, we have a little support that you put a smal lit candle in, and then the coffee pot over it. That should work for tea as well.

As far as refreshments go, its always cold water in a sport bottle for me. My garage is centrally heated!

I have several like this, they came free with Guinness last year.

I was suprised how hot the USB ones did get. They are a liitle small in diameter for some cups.

The Guinness ones also act as a 4 port USB hub.

Googling "Cup Warmer Uk" found several options, none of which are as fun as spending an indecent amount of time actually making one.

How come only office workers need mug warmers in their heated offices. I bet their loo seats are warmed as well. Mamby Pamby lot!! Wot about real workers out in the cold workshop who don't have a USB socket.
I Googled mug warmers and apart from a couple of U.S. mains ones, they are all USB.
