Brilliant!! Well done Greeney Cool

I think with the amount of work you have put into that it should be quite something on the local roads pretty soon. Sounds lovely too.

I'm not on the forum much as I've several things on the go at once at the moment over here, plus the purchase of the French barn to confirm this week (or not as the case may be as I've found another one Laughing ).

Yes it is ON, I will be rubbing it down and priming it next week then flatting and painting toward the end of the month beginning of August.
Rick, It confuses the locals a bit though They mention "Le anglais avec musee au voiture ancien" but then have to add in a second breath "French classics though and did you know he wears a beret" Embarassed
I have had the oddest of people popping in because "someone" in the village told them to come and visit me. Laughing
Taking the AK down the road today I rounded the bend at full stretch and nearly ran the gendarme car off the road Rolling Eyes sods law. They laughed heartily and shouted "ALLEZ ALLEZ" out the window (GO GO)
They know the mad englishman in the beret too! Laughing

Hi Greeney
From that picture it looks as if you will have to lower the seat, or you will end up with a permanent crick in your neck. Laughing

Looks great!...

and I'm jealous of your sensible local gendarmerie. I suspect our's would have booked you for not displaying a number plate. Sad

...and gone on to confiscate and crush the vehicle for not having the various legal requirements. Crying or Very sad
It seems that the Gendarmerie is still composed of human beings using discretion as opposed the the automatons on this side of the channel.

Just looking at your picture again Greeney in the UK there would be charges of - driving with 'defective' i.e. no body work, no seatbelt, no seat and thus a 'dangerous driving' charge, allowing a passenger to be carried in an unfit vehicle, no MOT, (tax/insurance?) blah blah blah...the local bobby would have made sergeant for catching you! Laughing

In fact they would most likely have to 'early release' one of our rapists or foreign murderers from prison in order to accommodate you for a month or two... bet I'm making you homesick aren't I? Laughing Laughing

God I am homesick Mr. Green
you forgot to mention no brake lights or indicators (as in not attached) Laughing
Funnily enough about an hour after the altercation with said gendarmerie van a guy turned up to have a look at the fourgonette now working, one of them must have gone back and told someone the "Fou anglais" has got it going. So the whole of chateauneuf will want to see it now Rolling Eyes Confused
