Back in the 60s a neighbour of mine drove one of those, with his wife and teenage son, from the South Coast to Newcastle, and back.
I am still in awe of this feat, second only to crossing the Sahara on a pogo stick. Shocked

I suppose Newcastle was a bit rough in the 60's - especially for southerners!! Laughing Laughing Laughing

Er! I think they were visiting relatives and took the Bond to underline the 'swanky' lifestyle they were having down south. Wink

In the late 1950s a man often brought into my place of employment parts of steel furniture that he made for us to weld together . his sole means of transport a Bond mini car it would apear with steel tubing stiking out in all directions resembeling atwo stroke porcupine .This continued for about two years with a very large driver and i gues 2 cwt of steel . I never heard of the worthy beast of burden failing
