no problem I would have carried out the death sentence myself but it was probably for the best? imagine if I had the money back then? have bought the car, and then known 10/15 years later that I threw out the original engine myself? and now when its SO hard to find a original S with its engine in place I would NEWER have forgiven myself. _________________ http://www.eurods.eu/wp/index.html |

well a friend of mine had the same sort of problem!!
His father has a 1071S which he has had from the early 70s, its not original and was not original when he got it either.
As it happens the engine got replaced and the original 1071S put into a corner and dismantled for a rebore, new pistons, rings etc but this never materialised and it just gathered dust for a number of years untill his brothers where clearing the garage to tidy it up a bit. By this time there were a number of engines thrown near this 1071 block, mostly 850s and these were deemed as rubbish and a skip was ordered and the lot thrown awat including the 1071 block!!
He got to now about it only a couple of years later whilst looking for it!!
Needless to say he's still crying his heart out!!!
However they have now got a 1275 S engine as a replacement but it'll never be the same thing as before!! |

yeaa the things that people did in the past we once cleaned out the garage at my fathers place, and I took a trailer full of old parts to the garbage place, on that trailer was 4 seats from different minis me, and my brother had had our fingers in these seats were not just any seats, they were all RACE/BUCKET type dont have a clue what make they were? but they were all different types.
So now when all people want old SpeedWell/SheelAlpine/Recaros/etc it hurts to know WHY they are so rare--I helped them getting rare _________________ http://www.eurods.eu/wp/index.html |

Yeaa but if you have the seat you can get it fixed up with new cloth etc.
I have one seat in my collection, I think its a SheelAlpine? not shure, but its for a mini anyway. I can take a picture one day _________________ http://www.eurods.eu/wp/index.html |

yes even I but have to get them from the loft first!!
Even mine are for a mini, the subframes fit in the original brackets and they should tilt forward like the standard seats!! |

Nice to have another Amazon owner on the forum.
My Amazon is also a very late one (chassis no 351642) - so who has the newest Amazon? |
sorry to say but I have sold my California white 1970 I put it up for sale just to see what would happen?? and 1st caller bought it I then had to find the papers, and there was the org Volvo data card with chassi no 355387, its built less than 2 months from production stop(april) and registred june 1970, still wearing its org set of plates. In DK the plates are taken off, if a car is taken out of registre for more than 3 weeks, and then you need to buy new BIG horrible aluminium plates not nice _________________ http://www.eurods.eu/wp/index.html |

Hi I just put it on the internet, and it was gone, 1st guy took it, he could see what it was, and how original it was, still with its org inner wings at the front, and org wheel arches at the back, we did one little hole in the floor before MOT, so if one took this car apart, and did a FULL resto it will win 1st price, becourse its so org in all its body, also the seats are original, all B20 models suffer from poor qualety vinyl, so most cars left outside is burned out, like a Califonia car. I also maneged to find the missing hose clips, and all parts in engine bay are with correct date stamping in them. _________________ http://www.eurods.eu/wp/index.html |
