Have you got enough room to get a small nut splitter in there?

I have had this trouble - I did not have a Dremel drill then but I think this would have cut a slot in the side of the nut. In the end I used a pair of strong side wire cutters - you need a strong grip though Shocked

I did get one nut off with a small quarter drive inch socket by tightnening it up and breaking off the the stud.

I am certain they 5/16th AF or 8mm if pushed (2BA will also fit well)

A blowlamp would melt the foam inside the dash rail too - it would allow access to the back of the stud to drill it out Wink

As far as I can remember you can strip the dials and back card on the dash so you would get a much better access to the bolts and nuts of the upper dash rail!!
can you use a heat gun instead, it did the trick once for me but it would still damage the foam!!

Confused

can you get soemone else to help a friend could try and grip the bolt with a gripper and you could try turning the nut with a spanner!!
