1964 Rambler Classic 660 S-wagon V8 287cc

1947 Rover P2 sedan 4 light 12hp - colour dark green / Connaught green

Greetings from Melbourne.
My life has been with cars and still at it. Started in 1946. I've rewired cars, spray painted many cars, done all mechanicals, 30 years Licenced Tester, RWC / MOT's.
Operated 4 petrol Service Stations. Been retired 14 years.
Had many cars. An 1928 A model Ford, a 1932 B model Ford. Many English cars. My dearest was a 1947 Rover P2 4 light 12hp sedan. Bought Dec 1955. Totally renovated. Registered Feb 1958.
Sold to my Bank Manager in 1966. He gave it back to me for free in 1971. Kept it three years locked it up and gave it away (a huge error by me) for a few dollars to a stranger.
Every day I think of my beautiful Rover.

Presently, I have a 1964 Rambler Classic 660 S-wagon V8 287cc. Bought March 1965 in Melbourne. Today its a show car. Hardly used. Only 40000 on the clock. All original.
Still the original exhaust parts. I done a new paint job 1981. Car only used two or three times a year. Has to be the best and most original 1964 Classic 660 wagon in the world.
Had it 45 yrs but not loved as much as the Rover. When I bought the Rambler, I traded-in a very nice Austin A40 Countryman with side glass and seats.

Slowly losing interest but love the oldies.

G'day

Hi guys

Have'nt been here for a while. Good job I did cause I had to reload my three
photos.

Just an update. Still have my old Rambler Classic wagon. The other day I found the receipt from the day I bought it, it was the 12th of March 1965.

Works out I've now had it for the past 53 long years. Speedo still on 40400 mls.

Cheers.

When I started reading the topic you said

I thought hmmm he must be mistaken - it is almost 10 years more.
Further on I see the first post WAS almost 10 years ago!
Good for you still owning the Rambler!
